Introduction:

Prof.Guy Smagghe,‘1000 talents’professor at Southwest University, he is leading a strong multidisciplinary  team in insect physiology, molecular biology, applied ecology and on mechanisms underlying the evolutionary success of insects against the plethora of chemical challenges in the environment, all with the aim for a sustainable environment-friendly control of pest insects and crop protection, he has also an eye for pollinators/wild bees and their pollination services  for a better production in agriculture to feed an increasing world population.
