NWAFU Students Won the First Prize at“ 21st Century?Coca-Cola Cup” National English Speaking Competition in Shaanxi Final

On December 2nd, the 22nd China Daily "21st Century•Coca-Cola Cup”National English Speaking Competition Shaanxi Final, co-hosted by China Daily and Coca-Cola Greater China, came to a satisfactory end at International Conference Center at Youyi campus in Northwestern Polytechnical University.

The competition consists of several sections including internet audition, campus selection, telephone interview and regional final. In the internet audition stage, Huang Kechao and Luo Meiqi, students of 2014 from Department of Foreign Languages, spoke fluently and vividly, taking personal story and science fiction fantasy as  breakthrough point respectively, demonstrating confident personal style and language proficiency, successfully entering the telephone interview. In the telephone interview section, with only 30 seconds’ preparation time, two students thought critically and behaved confidently, successfully breaking into regional final. Through fierce competition,with excellent language ability,quick response,critical thinking and passionate delivery,both Huang Kechao and Luo Meiqi won the first prize in Shaanxi final. Luo Meiqi also won Best Popularity Award, and associate professor Zhang Xiaorong won Excellent Guide Teacher Award.
