In 2020, NWAFU submitted 1862 applications for various of national and provincial research projects, 943 of which had been approved. The number of contracted fund for all projects reached 477 million yuan and of the received fund 465 million yuan. Of all the approved research projects, 159 were officially supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 178 by Shaanxi provincial projects of science and technology. For the achievements in social science, there were 8 projects supported by National Social Science Foundation, (including 1 key project), 9 by social science foundation of MOE, and 70 by Shaanxi humanities and social science foundation.
