On November 8, NWAFU Talents Work Conference was held, with the theme of “Committed to implement the spirit of the Central Talent Work Conference, and continue to advance the strategy of strengthening NWAFU by Talents in the New Era.”

2021 NWAFU Talents Work Conference Held

The conference was held in the form of “main venue plus branch venue”. All school leaders, chief scientists and PI of discipline groups, the first batch of personnel selected for “High-level Talents Development Support Program”, heads of democratic parties, heads of institutions (departments and offices), and principal leaders of the Party and government of colleges (institutes) have attended the conference.

Li Xingwang, secretary of University party committee, conveyed the spirit of the Central Talents Work Conference andGeneral Secretary Xi Jinping's speech, systematically summarized the outstanding achievements and some weakness in the construction ofNWAFU's talent team in recent years. He emphasized that theconference was a crucial one that carried out the spirit of the Central Talents Work Conference during the process of speeding up “the Double first-class initiative”. It is of great significance to the reform and development of NWAFU in the future.

Wu Pute, president of NWAFU, said that the new system is the full embodiment of the implementation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council's General Plan for Deepening the Reform of Education Evaluation in the New Era, and is a valid measure to facilitate the strategy of strengthening NWAFUby talents in the new era, hoping that it can improve our political consciousness, understand the policy in an all-round and profound way, and ensure the smooth implementation of the policy and yield fruitful results. He pointed out that the second-level Party committees of each college should learn from useful experience and practices of Kang Zhensheng's academician team and two institutions, constantly innovate the working mechanism, adhere to the development orientation of the colleges, and earnestly foster the construction of the talent team of the colleges.

At he conference, Vice President Ma Jianhua interpreted the new system oftalent policy in NWAFU. Professor Kang Zhensheng, head of Plant Immunity Innovation team and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, introduced the practice and thinking of team construction and talent training. Huang Debao, Secretary of the Party Committee of College of Horticulture, and Du Yongfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, respectively introduced the main practices of talent team building.
