The research team led by Professor Xu Jinrong discovered a kind of adenosine ( ADAR), which doesn’t rely on A-to-I RNA editing mechanism in the research of Fusarium graminearum. This is the first time to report A-to-I RNA editing in eukaryotes other than animals.

The paper concerning this achievement has been published online in the Genome Research (IF5:15.567), which is one of top-level journals in genetics and molecular biology.(Liu Huiquan, associate researcher, is the first author of the paper. Professor Xu Jinrong is the corresponding author.).And the research team was also invited to make illustrations to describe their research findings for the cover of the magazine..

This illustration describes the findings of A-to-I RNA editing in eukaryotes.
