From April 15th to 18th 2016 , Professor Chen Deliang, academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, associate dean of College of Sciences in University of Gothenburg, and his team of 14 people, visited NWAFU and carried out academic exchanges.
The two sides conducted an in-depth discussion on NWAFU’s development goals, discipline development plans, intercollegiate exchanges and cooperation. The two sides reached an agreement on how to serve for the country’s construction of ecological civilization, promote “Double First-class” and talent training. Academician Chen agreed, NWAFU has acquired fruitful research achievements on the construction of ecological environment, high- efficient utilization of resources and regional sustainable development. He expressed the wish to cooperate with NWAFU on discipline construction, talents training, and students ‘exchanges.
Academician Chen delivered an academic report.
During the visit, Academician Chen carried out 15 academic exchanges on soil and water conservation with experts and students, covering areas of soil and water conservation, water resource and water-saving agriculture, climate change, contrast between China and Sweden water related issues and research methods. Chen gave a report entitled “ the evolution process of climate science and its interdisciplinary development trend”, reported systematically on the evolution process of climate sciences, related problems and methodologies and exchanged ideas with teachers and students on how to carry out and improve related research.
