The final of “Dongfanghong Cup” the 2ndNational College Student Intelligent Agricultural Equipment Innovation Contest was held in Jiangsu University during Dec 3rd and Dec 5th. Projects of “Greenhouse Intelligent Spraying Robot” and “Chinese Cabbage Bundling and Derooting Machine” entered the final contest of free-themed scientific and technological invention creation and won the first prizes. Academician Luo Xiwen and academician Chen Xuegeng guided the assessment of the contest.
Contestants have been working on the project since the summer vacation. They worked conscientiously to build the system and improved the design through various tests. During the final contest, the contestants were calm and flexible and eventually achieved the outstanding results. The Greenhouse Intelligent Spraying Robot can make a turn of any angle and do matching calculation between turning angle and walking speed. Its walking map is based on laser radar and it can avoid obstacles through infrared sensing. The double-row moving spraying head and sine-cosine movement rule can effectively improve the spraying effect. The Chinese Cabbage Bundling and Derooting Machine can examine, sort, bundle, deroot, count, weigh, and calculate price for the Chinese cabbages. All the figures, including bundle number, average bundle quality, average bundle price, total quality, and total price, will be exported to display screen and memory card.
